Subject Page Project

The goal of this project is to create a website for a department in your institution or an organization in your community. This website will highlight the resources from your Gale databases that are specific to the needs of that department, increasing awareness of those resources and putting the best electronic Journals and Books in reach of thoes who most use them.

Examples

Project Steps:

1. Choose a Department at your school or a Community Organization that you want to better utilize the Gale Resources.

2. Go to the Browse Periodicals link in PowerSearch 2.0 and search for eBooks and periodical titles specific to that discipline.

3. Send an email to the teachers of the department or Organization Leaders asking them their favorite journals and periodicals.

4. Create a Bookmark for each of the titles selected and make a Hotlist of the Bookmarks for the eBooks and Periodicals.

5. Create a profile on www.yola.com

6. Use your profile to create a free website that will fit your Department or your Organization's needs.

7. Create clear and direct links to the titles chosen.

8. Create a PowerSearch 2.0 Widget that searches only the journal collections in your focus area.

9. Add a Featured Article section to highlight an article each month

10. Add a link to a Search Result Set

11. Share your site via email with the faculty and classes in your school or the Community Organizations in your neighborhood that would be interested in this topic.
